This gallery shows highlights from the 2009 Greaserama car show in Kansas City, Missouri, held on Labor Day weekend at the Boulevard Drive-In theater. One neat aspect of this venue is that they leave the speakers running all day, effectively creating a football-field-sized sound system. This year's Greaserama will be held over Labor Day weekend, too, September 4-5. Don't miss it!

Speaking of music, there's live music all day, vendors of all things funky & retro & cool, movies after dark, and of course awesome vintage rods of all description. It's the opposite of the Goodguys car show held across town during the same weekend: I suspect you could find a whole row of cars at a typical Goodguys show that cost as much to build as all of the vehicles at Greaserama, combined. It's home-brewed, fire-breathing madness!

Below are a bunch of photos I took at the car show. Of course, I didn't photograph every car, truck, motorcycle, scooter, bike, or other... thing, but here's a diverse gallery that gives the general feel of the show with some close-ups and examinations of detail work that ought to inspire every gearhead.
